Welcomeelcome
        W

Welcome to our 11th Annual Bull Sale!

I would like to sincerely thank all of our customers for their support and trust in our program. It is always humbling each year when one realizes
that without you (the customer) we would be nothing, so we deeply appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you again at this year’s
sale, serving your needs the best that we can.

I again have made some changes to our bull sale to try to make it better and at a more convenient time for our customers. With most if not all of
our customers normally calving during our sale in April we have realized it is diffi cult for you to get away and leave your cows to come to the sale,
so we decided to move it up to the end of February to try to accommodate you better! Hopefully this will be our last move and we hope this will
work better for everyone. I will be in mid calving during our sale this year but hopefully the weather will cooperate and all will go smooth. With
the change though, we do hope you will realize that our bulls will be about 2 months younger than normal when you come to look at them but
rest assured that the quality is still here and the bulls will be just as good if not better. The bulls are really coming on strong right now and are
looking good! We had a really rough fall as did many of you so we didn’t get the bulls weaned as early as we normally do either. They got weaned
and went on feed around the 1st of Nov, but they are really looking good and we have several new herd sires and AI sires in the lineup for you to
choose from. This year marks my 25th year in raising reg. Red Angus bulls, and I continue to learn and grow as a producer and fi nd more ways
to try to provide the best product and best customer service that I possibly can for you the customer. As always, we encourage your input and
feedback to help us to continue in doing so.

We had another dry summer and hay was short, but the silage was good so it should even out and we ought to get by on feed as long as it doesn’t
stay too cold for too long. We have not changed how we manage the cows and the same goes for the bulls. They have had no creep feed, been on
a complete mineral and vaccine program, and are fed a high-roughage diet. We try not to over feed them to ensure longevity for you the customer
but yet let them express enough genetic potential for you to make a good sound decision when picking out your bulls. (Yes, we could feed harder
and make these bulls bigger but to me that is not very realistic to how you are going to feed them or how you will feed your calves out of them, so
we try to feed them in a more realistic setting, with gain goals similar to what you will do. This will give you a better feel for what the bulls calves
will do in your operation.) Not all operations are the same and there are certain bulls that will fi t each situation or operation better than another one
will. Please feel free to give me a call when selecting your bulls to ensure you pick the one that will best fi ts your operation and needs. If there is
anything else we can do to assist you please give me a call, we hope to see you on sale day.
        Sincerely,

        Emit Valnes
