After years of searching for a South Devon heifer bull, we took it upon ourselves to
DLC Romeo Lad 424 raise on of our own out of our own cowherd. We got lucky and we raised a red and a
black bull that will work very well on South Devon heifers. They may not be bullet-
proof, but after two years of use on our heifers, we’ve only had three assists. These
sires will give us calving ease plus performance.

424 sires smaller, thick-made calves and 496 will sire longer, smoother-made calves.
Sons of these two sires, marked with a “3” in calving-ease code, should work very well
on South Devon fi rst-calf heifers.
