Rio is a jack-of-all-trades sort of gelding that I can say whole heartedly
with 100 percent confi dence that any age and any level could get along
with him. I’ve owned him for the passed fi ve years. He does literally every-
thing and anything! I started out showing him as a 3- and 4-year-old in the
pleasure events and since then have added all the ranch classes. We have
roped some slower steers on him out of the box, loped a few barrel pat-
terns, gathered cattle on him, pasture roped, pulled logs from the timber
on him, and have used him to turn back on. In 2017, he was Top Five at
the Color Breed Congress in disciplined rail, and in 2018, he was Reserve
High-Point Overall Ranch Horse at the New Year’s Celebration. He has won
me a lot of open show jackpot money in both the Western and ranch class-
es. He is the same horse every day – whether it’s with a saddle or bareback
with a rope and halter, he doesn’t change. He is the same exact horse every
single day. He is always happy and absolutely loves life. He is personable
and adores attention. I would trust any non-horse individuals to handle or
ride him. His ground manners are second to none. He is very broke. He
will go fast or slow. All one handed, nice stop, good lead changes, correct
pivots and a solid head set. I don’t know of anyone that’s ever ridden him
that hasn’t gotten along with him . If you can hold the reins and cluck,
kiss and whoa, you can ride him. He rides in a group or alone. He has zero
issues. Rio loves the arena or riding outside outside down the trails or with
cattle. He is fi ne with wildlife, traffi c and most any chaos. Again, he literally
loves life. I adore this horse and think of him as my best friend. The only
reason I’m offering him for sale is so someone else can enjoy him as much
as I have. He is as pretty as a picture, stands 16 HH and weighs 1350. He’s
good foot and good boned, has a long mane and a long tail. Feel free to
contact me at 641-420-0712 as I have video after video of Rio. He truly is
one in a million and I’ve been blessed to call him mine. If you are looking
for a forever horse that does it all , then you will want to see Rio!
