Welcome to our 2021 Production Sale!

      Dear Cattlemen,
Welcome to the 39th annual Klain Simmental Ranch Production
Sale. First, we would like to thank all of our fellow ranchers,
farmers, friends and family for all of your support and enduring
commitment to our industry throughout this past year. 2020
certainly has had its own unique challenges and celebrations for us
all where we pray and hope for all the health, safety and success of
you all moving into 2021 and beyond.

Refl ecting on this past year, we want to focus on some of the
celebrations we’re grateful for. We started the 2020 year out with
the addition of our fi rst grandchild, Finley James Klain. What an
awesome feeling that has been! We have made more trips to
Michigan this year than the last two put together. We also held
our fi rst sale at the farm and had the most amazing weather for
that event. We again want to thank you all for attending, whether
it was in person or virtually! In addition, we also hosted the ND
Stockman’s Tour this fall on the ranch. It was great to see all our
fellow cattlemen that ventured out to view our cattle and all of the
other tour host’s cattle and operations.

We are excited about this year’s bull and heifer herd selections
for 2021. These bulls and heifers are undoubtedly the deepest
and most versatile group we have ever offered. Calving ease, high
carcass qualities, strong maternal traits, disposition and eye appeal
are qualities and standards we look for and strive for. The bred
heifers that are selected for the sale are complete, sound structured
and ready to go to work raising great calves. We are confi dent that
we can fi nd the right fi t for your herd to bring continued success
into your operations for years to come.

Our cow herd here at KSR is raised on native grass with no grain
supplement. We adhere to extremely strict culling practices for
longevity and maternal traits for our cow herd. Traits such as
polled, moderate frame size, quality udder structure, disposition
and calving ease are on the top of our list of expectations. We
also put emphasis on profi t traits, growth, milk, marbling, feed
effi ciency, tenderness, rate of gain, fertility and longevity. With the
commercial producer in mind, we offer entirely polled, powerful,
balanced, traits for a useful and effi cient set of cattle. This offering
of cattle is the most balanced and complete set of cattle with
emphasis on fertility, performance and balanced EPDs that we have
      ever produced.
We understand everyone has different schedules, which is why
we will be hosting an open house Friday, January 29 thru Sunday,
January 31. Food and beverages will be provided from 11 a.m. to
4 p.m. each day. The sale cattle will be available for viewing. Feel
free to stop in to visit and view our offering anytime you would like
where we will have some Knoephla soup, hot chocolate and coffee
      available.
