P. 2
WELCOME
WELCOME
Welcome to our 46th Performance sale to be held February 15th, 2021 at Kist Livestock Auction, Mandan ND.
We have a truly outstanding set of bulls and bred replacement heifers to off er in our 2021 sale. Our weaning weights are
up over previous years without creeping feeding the calves or providing supplemental feed to the cowherd during the sum-
mer. Because of genetics and the mild winter so far in 2020-2021, our average daily gains and yearling weights have also
taken a big leap upward.
Let us visit fi rst about the bulls. Th is year we have several new and exciting sire groups to off er. Th e largest sire group will
be the S S Niagara Z29 sons. We knew based on pedigree the Niagara progeny would be highly maternal, have excel-
lent feet and leg structure plus be very quiet mannered. What surprised us was the overall stoutness of these bulls both
in terms of body mass and frame size. K C F Bennett Th e Rock is another new addition and a complete outcross in our
genetic program. Th e Rock progeny are larger framed, extremely long bodied bulls with moderate birth weights, tons
of grow and great dispositions. Many of his sons will qualify for both the TOP DOLLAR ANGUS and CERTIFIED
ANGUS BEEF logo qualifi cation programs. Still another new sire group for us in 2021 are the sons of Connealy Ram-
part. Rampart is a calving ease sire with high growth numbers whose progeny will impress you in terms of body length,
disposition, and muscle mass. Th ey are a bit more moderate in stature for those of you that want to keep your cowherd
heights in check. Of course, we will also have progeny from several sires featured in years past like S Whitlock 179, Poss
Achievement and Musgrave 316 Stunner. Be sure to check out the Tokach Tour of Duty E117 sons. While younger in age,
we think they are a special group with great potential.
Th e Tokach females are the working foundation that we have hung our hats on for many years and what our reputation is
built around. Th ey are bred and developed to run in big country with a minimum of inputs and care. Th ey are big outlined,
broody females that carry the trademark “TOKACH FEMALE” look. Our 2021 off ering of bred replacement heifers were
synchronized and A. I. bred to either Sydgen Enhance who lead the Angus breed in registrations in 2020 or E & B Plus
One who was the heaviest used yearling bull of the Angus breed in 2019.
All the registered cattle will have genomic enhanced EPDs once again which provides you with the most accurate and up
to date genetic predications the industry has to off er.
Video’s of the sale off ering will be posted on DVAuction just like they have in the past for your viewing and buying conve-
nience. Richard & Ben would welcome phone calls on any of the sale off ering. Th ey see and feed the sale off ering daily and
know them better than anyone. Th ey may be a bit biased knowing the genetics behind the sale off ering but they will be
honest in their opinions. We also would encourage you to stop out at the ranch at any time to see the bulls in person and
the environment they were raised in.
Th e sale cattle have been handled the same as in the past. Th e cattle have not been on creep feed and are on home grown
feed with a protein and mineral supplement. Th e bulls were weaned in mid-September and the bred heifers taken off grass
on December 1st. Birth weight are taken with a scale, weaning weights taken at weaning and yearling weights taken just in
time for this catalog to go to press.
Th e cattle can be seen at Kist’s Livestock Auction in Mandan from February 13th until sale time. Prior to that time, they
and the cowherd can be seen at the ranch at your convenience. Th ank you to all our customers.
