P. 3
WELCOME
Welcome cattlemen and cattlewomen,
We would like to welcome everyone to our Annual Production sale and say thank you to our customers for the past years of support. We also
look forward to building relationships with those of you who may be new to our program and helping you with your genetic needs. Our bulls
and females have performed very well as in the past and we welcome your appraisal of the offering.
We are excited to announce that for the year 2021 our herd was recognized as having the most Dams of Distinction owned (21) and bred (22)
in the nation. Our herd had over 5% of our assessed cows honored as Dams of Distinction (versus 1% nationally) and 17.5% of our herd
honored as Dams of Merit and Distinction (versus 5.6% nationally). These highly maternal females are above average producers that stay in
the herd. We feel that by not creep feeding, we have identified those bloodlines in our herd that produce big calves on just grass and milk.
Whether our customers are buying bulls or females, these maternal traits will add profitability to their herd.
The bulls performed well this fall and winter, despite the cold weather. The bulls are developed on a fifteen acre pasture, so they receive more
exercise and develop more soundly on their feet and legs. We have been very impressed by their masculinity and stoutness they express with
the extra movement. Our goal is to grow the bulls moderately at 3.0 to 3.25 pounds/day, and they have certainly been able to do this with an
easy fleshing appearance.
Once again, this year the sale format will be a video sale, with animals penned outside and being sold on a video screen without them
entering the barn. We invite you to come early to evaluate the animals and visit about your program. Feel free to contact us if you would like
to do this. As always, DV Auction will be broadcasting the sale and phone bidding is available.
We appreciate the chance to show you the offering and look forward to serving your cattle needs.
