Welcome to our
2022 Production Sale!

We can’t believe it has been 40 years since we sold our
fi rst bull in the ring at the Turtle Lake Sale Barn! We held
our sale there for over 35 years. A few years ago, we
decided to move the sale to the farm and are so grateful
for all the support that has followed us through the
transition!

We started this endeavor with the intention to raise
Simmental cattle for the average producer that
performed on a maternal as well as a carcass standpoint.
Even through the ups and downs of the trends and
environment in the last 40 years, that mission has never
changed! Forty years ago, we wanted tall, leggy, lean
bulls and today we want thick, smooth, moderate-framed
bulls. Thank goodness the times have changed!

We have held true to the core of our operation –
maternally strong, structurally sound, high-producing
females. We believe a cattle operation is only as strong as
its cows. Cows that can withstand stress, like this year’s
drought, and still wean off impressive calves that will go
on to make great herd sires and replacement females. The
female genetics you see here at KSR are second to none.
It has taken years to build these proven genetics.

What a set of cattle to celebrate 40 years! Genetically and
phenotypically, this set is outstanding! Unquestionably,
this is one of the most adaptable and strongest set of
cattle we have offered. Whether you are in the market for
your next herd sire, heifer bull, or next foundation female,
we have a high-quality lot for you!

Over the last 40 years, your friendship and the Simmental
breed has stuck with us through the good and the bad.
For that, we want to extend our gratitude for your support
and friendship. These last 40 years would not have been
possible without you!

Feel free to join the celebration at our open house from
Friday, January 28 through Sunday, January 30. All sale
lots will be available for viewing. Food and beverages will
be provided from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. We promise
you will want a bowl of Darcy’s knoephla soup!
