Welcome to our 5th Annual Angus Production Sale, “Focus on the Future.” All the breeding decisions, careful replacement female selection, and
intensive focus on quality and genomics for several years are all for our end goal of producing cattle that are easy fleshing, efficient on forage, and
have built-in longevity. They also excel for growth and carcass qualities, have great dispositions, and will produce excellent quality replacement
females- qualities our cattle are well known for! Buy our cattle with confidence, as they will positively impact your operation far into the future!
“Focus on the Future”
This year was a great test for our cattle with the exceptional drought seen nearly everywhere. Through it all, the cows still made it through in great
shape all while weaning several calves in that 800lb. plus range without any creep for the calves. We like growing the calves without creep and feed-
ing them a high roughage diet after weaning. This helps with soundness and longevity and to see what their true potential is, in real world condi-
tions. As you will notice, there are a few animals with their ears nipped by the frost. This won’t affect their productivity in any way and is just one
more testament of how tough our cattle really are. Our temperatures here can be counted on to reach -40F below in the winter and have reached
well over 100F in the summer with nearly 100% humidity at times. Our cattle have the adaptability to go anywhere and go to work!
Last year we had an abundance of heifer calves and were a little shorter on the bull calf side of things. With that, we have decided to offer some
great registered open yearling heifers. These are some exceptional replacements, with breed leading EPDs and docility that would help move your
cow herd forward. To help with the hay shortage we have decided to offer FREE KEEP on all the heifers until around May 1, 2022 as we have been
blessed to have enough hay to “get by” and would like to help you out, as well. We will also offer FREE Synchronization and Artificial Insemination
of these heifers to our Origen feature sire HCC Home Run 7307. His daughter produced the top Adj. Weaning Weight bull (Lot#3), with the top WW
& YW EPDs of any bull in the sale! We will breed them right along with our cows and heifers before sending them off to you.
We are excited to again be offering both a live and internet auction, so you can either bid in person at the farm, over the phone, or on the internet
through DVAuction.
