Sparky is a special kind of gelding that we have loved having in our
program. Gentle, honest and broke as any horse we’ve ever had. He
stands 15 HH and weighs roughly 1100 lbs., is put together right and
will hold up to whatever you want to do on him. He will fit so many
riders in so many different ways. He’s the definition of “all around.”
Sparky will check all of the boxes from reining, versatility, roping, trail, ranch, cow
work, show, lesson and more. He’s a money earner – finished reiner and will ride
for any level rider that wants to compete or just have fun. He can ride for an open
rider, youth, non-pro or whoever has the desire to go to the show pen on him. He’s
won just under $13,000 in reining. He will do all the maneuvers with ease – he’s
automatic with flying lead changes, has a big stop, a lot of turn and lopes a pretty
pattern. He will excel in all the ranch horse classes – he’s just plain versatile.
Sparky is just as happy going on a trail ride in the desert, up the mountains, along
the beach or out on the ranch checking pairs. You can catch this guy in the pasture
or corral, hop on him bareback and ride him to the trailer with twine around his
neck. He’s good with tarps, balls and anything else you want to play with. He’s
competed in ranch horse competitions, he’s been used on the ranch, branding,
roping and for break away. He loves working cows, he’s talented at whatever
he does. He ropes both ends and is great to break away on. He’s a solid ranch
horse, he’s good with kids, he’ll ride the same every single day, every single ride.
He’s a simple horse to ride, no nonsense or funny business, there is nothing to
fault on this finished gelding. He’s one of our all-time favorite. He’s one that can
teach a newbie how to ride. He’s as nice a gelding as you’ll find anywhere with an
easy-going personality. Any level rider can sit on this horse and he’ll ride to their level and do it willingly. Out on the mountain he’s going to cross logs, water, ride quiet
and take care of his rider. For the next two months he’ll be competing with Mesa (15-year-old daughter) in reined cow horse, roping and breakaway for high school rodeo.
He’s sound, never had any soundness issues, he’s been vetted and passed all his flexion tests, clean X-rays of his front feet and hocks. He’s solid, he’s good to shoe, haul,
stand tied all day, bathes and clips with no issues. He’s by Jacs Electric Spark with winnings of $86,000 in the NRHA with 38 AQHA points and out of a daughter of Smart
Chic Olena (he has $167,471 in cutting, reining and cow horse events with 65 AQHA points and is a $10 million sire). If you would like to talk or have any questions about
