WELCOME
Welcome Cattlemen and Cattlewomen,
We would like to welcome everyone to our Annual Production Sale and say thank you to our customers for the past years of
support. We also look forward to building relationships with those of you who may be new to our program and helping you
with your genetic needs.
This year, we are offering our first sons of the RWG Grand Plan sire. We are very pleased with the eye appeal, performance
and EPD profiles of his progeny. We also have several other sire groups that have some outstanding sons. Overall, the bulls
have performed remarkably well so far considering the weather that we have experienced this year. They are fed a total mixed
ration designed to provide gains from 3.25 to 3.5 pounds per day and they are right on track as of the January weighing.
Again, the bulls are being developed on a 15-acre pasture to keep them sound and athletic.
We feel that by not creep feeding, we have identified the bloodlines in our herd that produce big calves without supplemental
feed. Whether our customers are buying bulls or females, these maternal traits will add payweight and profitability to their
calf crops in the long run. In 2022, our herd was recognized as #1 in the nation for Dams of Distinction bred (just over 5% of
our herd versus just over 1% nationally) and #4 in the nation for Dams of Merit (over 15% of our herd versus 6% nationally).
These are females that breed early, maintain their calving interval, produce above-average calves and stay-in-the-herd cows
that are profitable.
Once again, this year the sale format will be a video sale with animals penned outside and being sold on a video screen
without them entering the barn. If you would like to come prior to sale day to evaluate the animals and visit about your
program, feel free to contact us so we can be available. As always, DV Auction will be broadcasting the sale and phone
bidding is available.
We appreciate the chance to show you the offering, visit about your program and look forward to serving your cattle needs.
