Greetings 2023!
We would like to invite you to join us for our an-
nual bull sale. Thank you for your past support and
interest in our program. We’ve been involved in the
purebred sector for 47 years. It all started with a
Charolais heifer and a dream. As they say, the rest
is history and we would love to fill you in!

As calving season approaches for some of us, or
is underway for others, once again calving ease,
disposition and healthy, vigorous calves are what
we all strive for. Sire selection couldn’t be more im-
portant this time of year. We have an exceptional
group of bulls to offer you; black Angus, as well as
red factor and white Charolais – bulls that will get
the job done in the pasture, and produce quality
offspring with everything a discerning cattle man
or woman works towards achieving in their opera-
tion. A calf that is born easily, grows up quickly and
efficiently, and is gentle to work around.

At Starr Charolais & Angus, these traits are what
we look for when we select herd sires. Because ev-
ery bull that we sell is a bull we wouldn’t be afraid
to use in our own herd. We rigorously cull in the
spring when the calves are born, and again in the
fall after weaning is complete and the calves are
on feed. We grow the bulls out on a grower feed
ration from Feed Mix in Harvey to make the most
of their frames, not with hot feed to fatten them
quickly. We feel that quality is much more impor-
tant than quantity!

You are welcome to view the bulls on the ranch
prior to the sale, and they will be penned at Rugby
Livestock Auction beginning Thursday, February
23 for viewing there. If you are unable to attend
the sale, videos will be available on DVAuction.com
where the entire sale will be broadcast live. Also,
