Welcome
Welcome
Welcome to our FIRST ever bred heifer sale!
Seeger Red Angus was started in the early 1990s by Sherill
Seeger and family. From the beginning, we have worked
hard to breed with top genetics incorporated into our herd.
To this day, you can find Seeger lineage in sale catalogs
across the country. In 2003, we downsized and kept a small
Red Angus herd to keep Sherill busy while daughter, Dixie,
was in school. After graduating from veterinary school,
we began growing the registered herd back up. We have a
private treaty bull sale every spring, but this is our first bred
heifer sale.
Dixie married Brandon Rusch, thus creating Seeger & Rusch
Red Angus. They moved onto the farm and ranch and have
since had kids, Regan (7), Jolyn (5), and Kenna (2). The
Brandon & Dixie Rusch, Regan, Jolyn and Kenna kids have displayed their love for cattle from a young age
and love feeding cows with dad in the tractor, feeding cows
cake during the summer, and getting to trail cattle. Although
Sherill has retired, he still helps out, especially during calv-
ing season, when not traveling or hunting!
Our calving season starts around February 1st and we try
to finish up in early April. This gives us a little time to get
calves worked so we can get ready to start breeding again
at the end of April. We strive to keep a docile, family-friendly
herd since we have kids in the corral with us all year long.
Any funny business and those girls get a ride to town. Our
calves are not creep fed. These heifers received the Virash-
ield 6 VL5 booster on October 22 and their first round of
scour vaccine at that time as well. We will re-pregnancy
check everyone close to sale date.
