Where has 2023 gone! It feels like yesterday we were calving these bulls out and here we are getting ready for a
sale. 2023 was good to us. We had an abundance of grass both grazing and hay and the corn, beans, and barley
also yielded very well.
Calving was one for the record books! With the 2022/23 winter we had there were many sleepless nights spent in
the barn and the Kubota. Then came the mud, it was a challenge keeping everything dry and warm but we pulled
through with very little sickness. It was a great feeling getting everything out on grass! The mamas and the babies
did very well bringing in some awesome weaning weights. We weaned the calves on 9/15 and have been on a 48
mega-cal ration until recently. We bumped them to a 50. This set of bulls is a well-balanced set with a lot of natural
muscle, thickness and length. They are the right type and kind to build females and feeder cattle.
A little about the family ... Amber is still head of all operations such as calving the May herd, parts runner, gate
opener, cook, cleaning lady, flashlight holder and so on! You will never see her without a smile on her face as she
loves every minute of her jobs! Kaden, senior herdsman, tackles day to day chores, loves buying cattle, is the bull
delivery guy, baler operator and so much more! He also loves getting under his mother’s skin a little too often!
Kylee, a senior in high school. Yes, my little girl is a senior! Kylee keeps busy with 4-H, she loves to run the rake, is
great help working cattle and keeps herself busy with volleyball and basketball throughout the school year. Kolden,
a high school sophomore, also known as Little John, also keeps busy with 4-H. He is an excellent hand at anything
you give him to tackle. He loves driving semi, welding and for the last 2 years has inherited the job of making the
silage pile!
So, without further ado, we would like to invite you to our sale! We also encourage you to come to the ranch and go
through the bulls, along with their mothers, and heifer mates are always fun to look at as well!! Thank you for your
interest and support in our program!
