Page 2 - Starr Charolais & Angus Annual Bull Sale – Feb. 22, 2025
P. 2
Welcome
Simmental Bulls
Greetings 2025!
At this time, we’d like to thank all our buyers and bidders that
made last year’s sale a success! We truly appreciate your
interest and confidence in our program and strive to make you
happy with your purchases! Our customers, whether it be from
last year or previous years, are what keep us in business and
we value each and every one of you!
As we enter into our 49th year raising purebred cattle, we
reflect on what started out as a dream, and with hard work
and determination, has come full circle, as we now have our
daughter and son in law and their family involved in the op-
eration! (Nothing better than having our grand kiddos out in
the barns and lots at an early age, exhibiting that same wide-
eyed enthusiasm we had many years ago!)
Time flies but the cattle industry remains basically the same.
We all want easy keeping cows that calve smoothly and raise
big calves. That’s where herd sire selection comes into play,
and why it is so important to select bulls that will get the job
done well.
We select bulls to sell to our customers that we would not be
afraid to incorporate into our own herd. We cull hard in the
spring when the bull calves are born, and again in the fall as
they are weaned and on feed. Just because that calf is a pure-
bred, it doesn’t mean he has what it takes to be someone’s
herd sire. The bulls are on a grower feed ration that we have
made in Harvey at Feed Mix. The ration makes the most of
their frames and is not hot feed that will burn them out. Herd
health is very important to us, and every animal on the place is
on a select mineral program, as well as vaccine regimen.
You are welcome to view the bulls at the ranch prior to the
sale. And they will be penned at Rugby Livestock Auction be-
ginning Thursday, February 20 for viewing there. If you are un-
able to attend the sale, videos will be available on DVAuction.
com where the entire sale will be broadcast live, or feel free
to leave bids with Larry, Julie, or a representative from Rugby
Livestock Auction. Also, make sure to check out our Facebook
page Starr Charolais & Angus for the latest notifications and
supplements.
Please contact one of us if you’d like to learn more about the
bulls! We are proud of our offering and would love to answer
any questions you may have!
We look forward to meeting new friends and catching up with
the old!
We wish you good luck calving, green pastures, and bountiful
hay in 2025 and beyond!
