Welcome GREEN MOUNT AIN RED ANGUS
GREEN MOUNTAIN RED ANGUS
Welcome to Green Mountain RED Angus!
2025 looks to be a banner year for the beef industry. Whether it is registered or commercial we are seeing record cattle markets. We are currently
at the top of the bell curve but fluctuations in the market will happen. The Red Angus Association of America continues to keep moving the value of
Red Angus cattle in a positive direction so that demand remains high in any type of market. Over the past couple of years, collaborations have been
formed that put more emphasis on the power of Red Angus genetics and red-hided cattle. Here are some of the highlights.
• RAAA has founded the Genetic Merit Pricing Task Force, which is an industry-wide group of leaders tasked with the challenge of removing
hide color as an indicator of quality and replacing it with genetic merit.
• IMI Global will allow cattle producers who take advantage of Red Angus value-added programs to more easily utilize IMI Global verification
services to boost cattle producers’ profit potential, including their newest sustainability program, BeefCARE.
• RAAA is in partnership with Adams Land & Cattle, of Broken Bow, NE, to source cattle for Tyson’s Brazen Beef Program. This thriving pro-
gram has procured a substantial number of Red Angus influenced feeder cattle with demand on the rise. Requirements include age & source
verification, EID attached to an enrolled calf group such as FCCP, and enrollment in BeefCare.
• Sustainable Beef, LLC, in North Platte, NE, will be opening this year and rely on genetic merit rather than hide color, requiring all cattle to carry
an EID. Again, this falls right in line with FCCP.
• Changes to the USDA Live Animal Specification for eligibility into Angus influence certified beef programs validates that Angus are Angus,
regardless of color. Cattle enrolled in FCCP qualify by traceability to Red Angus parentage. Eligibility also includes cattle that have solid red
coloring.
You can see the consistency in development of these forward moving programs and how they work together to provide cattlemen options for
improving the value of red-hided cattle. Efforts are constantly being made to ensure the viability and profitability of Red Angus cattle. The crew at
Green Mountain continues to work hard promoting our customers’ cattle as well. Partnerships with Superior Livestock, Allied Feeding Partners,
and Top Dollar Angus allow us to provide marketing options and opportunities.
We would like to thank you for putting your trust in our program. We hope you enjoy looking at the genetic packages offered in this catalog.
Please reach out if you would like any additional information to help with your genetic selections. We look forward to seeing you on sale day!
