Annual Bull Sale
Thursday, April 3, 2025
Glasgow Stockyards, Glasgow, MT
1 p.m. MDT
Welcome to the sixth annual Northern Lites Red Angus annual production sale!
Boy has this year flown by! There have been lots of new and exciting things taking place here at Northern Lites for both our
commercial and registered herds. Along with the exciting changes to our herd we made a big change moving our sale date
to Thursday, April 3rd, and have chosen to offer 20 head of bred heifers along with 40 head of our commercial replacement
heifers. We are also excited to introduce you to some new faces of Northern Lites Red Angus on sale day.
Throughout the spring sale season, we made a strong effort to invest in new, competitive genetics that will help our cus-
tomers market quality Red Angus feeder cattle and replacement females. Along with purchasing new genetics, we had the
opportunity to market our feeder calves to Adams Land & Cattle down in Broken Bow, NE. By selling our calves to them we
are able to receive individual carcass and feed intake data. We are extremely excited about receiving this information, and
will be using it to make better selection decisions when it comes to our herd and the genetics we invest in.
This year’s offering of bulls might just be our stoutest offering of bulls yet! They have been developed at Hould Bull Devel-
opment in Malta, MT, by Bruce Hould and his family. The bulls were weaned October 2nd and were sent to Hould’s October
7th where they have been on a high roughage diet since. Our commercial and registered replacement heifers for the past
three years have been sent to Greenway Growyard in Savage, MT, where the Oliver family develops and AI’s our heifers. The
heifers were sent to Greenway Growyard first of October, where they too are on a high roughage diet, gaining about 2lbs/
day. Like the bulls, the heifers are not pushed hard and are developed to be ready for pasture turnout.
Our annual production sale will be at the Glasgow Stockyards again this year. This sale could not be done without giving a
huge thanks to Iva, Jake, Cody and all the staff at Glasgow Stockyards for helping us stay organized on sale day. We also
would like to thank Danae Switzer from Diamond D Images for taking the bull photos and videos. The sale will be broadcast-
ed live on DVAuction, along with Cattle USA for online bidding options. If you choose to bid with DVAuction, please sign up a
couple days ahead, so you have time to get registered.
Feel free to swing by Hould’s Bull Development to view the bulls before April 1st, and don’t hesitate to reach out and sched-
ule a time to view the heifers before April 1st as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out
anytime.
Thanks again!
