Welcomeelcome

Welcome Friends and Cattle Producers,
Another fantastic year has gone by and another sale day is upon
us. Last year was the fi rst year we held our sale in a true “auction
format” and it was one of the best sale days we have ever had. It
was truly humbling to see the number of people who came out in
support of Kravig Red Angus and of course we were honored and
proud to have the crew at Winter Livestock in La Junta, Colorado,
work so hard for our program! We are certainly excited about
what we have to offer you in this year’s sale and believe it is one
of the deepest sets of bulls we have ever had for sale. Although
the cattle, our genetics, and our cattle’s ability to “work for you” is
near the top of our priority list, I must say that is the friends, the
cattle producers, and the family who show up in support of our
program that make all the hours of hard work worth it! We truly
are blessed!
My father, Dennis Kravig, instilled in me in at a young age the
importance of fi tting your cattle to the environment, not the envi-
ronment to your cattle. Along with that philosophy it has always
been of utmost importance to put extra emphasis on effi cient and
adaptable cattle, thus we derived our motto of “Cattle Working
For You!” To put it simply our motto can be interpreted as this;
Our cattle have been bred and developed to survive on their own
through the extreme and diverse weather that Eastern Colorado
offers. By forcing these cattle to go out on the short grass prairie
and forage for the majority of their diet we have been able to
eliminate certain genetics that need extra TLC just to remain in
production. By raising cattle who have the ability to survive in
our program with little supplementation of feed we feel and it has
proven true that when they leave our ranch and go to areas with
more abundant moisture and forage they excel and will remain in
production for years to come. With the high cost of production we
believe now more than ever in the importance of the value we put
into each and every animal we produce. Traits such as easy fl esh-
ing, calving ease, udder quality, disposition, and structure from
the ground up is a must for the cattlemen to remain profi table.
Cattle that have the ability to stay on the land, are highly fertile and
have the “front pasture” eye appeal has become the standard for
us.
