Red Hill SimGenetics Spring Yearling Bulls
The Simmental bull management has been identical to that of the Red Angus bulls – as all the
bulls ran in the same pastures and were fed from the same troughs. The bulls were developed
on a high-roughage haylage based ration with a goal of the bulls gaining 2.25 pounds per day.
Yearling weights, ultrasound data, and height measurements were taken on January 16, 2017.
Scrotal measurements and BSEs were performed by Dr. Chad Shaw on February 14, 2017, and
the scrotal measurements printed are actual measurements from that date. Many of these bulls
have grown 1 to 2 centimeters since their January yearling measurements.

147D is a very growthy, heavy structured son of 231A. It is rewarding to see a bull with this kind of growth pattern along
with a birth weight and calving ease EPDs that are not out of bounds.

70D has been a standout since birth. He is ¼ Simmental and ¾ Angus, but he has the heavy muscling and growth that is
so typical of the 231A sired cattle. The dam of 70D is our 765 Angus cow that we have fl ushed to 4 different Angus bulls.
765 is the most fescue adaptable Angus cow we have found. She is always very slick haired and in good body condition.
She also has a near perfect udder. 70D should sire outstanding replacement heifers.
