Lot 17 Synchronizing large groups of cattle has is advantages but sometimes there are drawbacks. One
of them is displayed in Lot 17. When you have a large group of bulling cows, sometimes one of
them might get hurt. During the 2019 breeding season, 173 suffered a stifl e injury that has left her with a lameness in her right hind leg. She is still able to travel 3 miles without falling behind and raise
above-average calves even with an injury. Prior to the injury she raised our top- selling bull calf in our 2016 sale selling to Ole Farms for $23,000. Once again due to the injury this cow will have a fl oor
and if she doesn’t sell we will calve her and fl ush her.
