Our Embryo Program goal is to produce more
females out of cows that have proven themselves
time and again. The donor cows need to be phe-
notypically correct with balanced udders, good leg
and feet structure, good fl eshing ability and need
to have proven that they work in our environment –
this is the majority of their story.
For us the MPPA of these cows tells us another
part of their story along with their EPD profi le. We
do not like to pull cows out of production so we
will keep breeding them and when opportunity
arises, we will then fl ush them.
When you look at the embryo lots you will fi nd that
the 064 cow is the mother to the 288 donor dam.
The Lot 37A dam is a daughter of MLK CRK LANA
2281 who also was a donor cow. Then go back to
two more generations and you will fi nd that 470’s
great granddam also was a donor cow in our herd.
We tend to replicate the cows that work.
