Cattlemen, family and friends,a
We would like to welcome you to our annual bull sale. We are excited about the offering of bulls this
W
y year. We feel it is an even set, that will work well in many different environments. We strive to produce
b
bulls that are powerful, practical and profi table. We utilize the same genetics in our commercial herd
a
as we do in our registered herd, so we know these cattle can go out in rougher country and work for a
l
living.
T
There are a few new additions to the sale this year, one of those being registered bred heifers. These
were not culled from our herd based on quality; they were culled after an April 10th calving date.
They are preg checked and ready to go. We will be offering a top-notch set of commercial Red Angus
open heifers again this year. We will take a gate cut sample to the sale to view sale day, but please
stop out to the ranch and see them anytime.
Another new addition this year is Schriefer Red Angus. We have been friends with Schriefers for
many years and run some of our commercial cattle together. Welcoming them to join us and Pavlenkos on sale day just
seemed like a great fi t!
One thing will be missing this year, and that is one of our greatest supporters. We lost Jolyn’s dad this past year as he
battled many health issues. He never missed a sale or the opportunity to talk to people about our cattle. He truly loved
cattle and although he won’t physically be there sale day, we know he will be watching from above.
We welcome you out to the ranch to look at cattle anytime. We would be happy to walk through the bull pen or the heifer pens and answer any questions you
may have about our cattle or our program. If you can’t make it out, give us a call. We will have online viewing and bidding available again through DVAuction.
Hope to see you sale day!

In Memory – Bill Bowman
The sale won’t be quite the same this year with-
out the presence of Bill Bowman. He was not only
Jolyn’s dad, but he was also our biggest supporter.
Dad loved many things, but at the top of his list were
cattle, fi shing and politics, not always in that order.
As we focus on the bull sale and think about calving
season starting, I know dad is smiling down on us.
He called us a lot this time of year, wanting to go
through all the data on the bulls, fi nd out which ones
weighed the most at weaning, how they were gaining
and how they looked. He wanted to know which one
Chris thought was the best, so he could try and buy
that one, and some years he did. He was so excited
to get his catalog and wasn’t afraid to tell everyone
at coffee, or on the street, how proud he was of us
and our cattle. We miss those phone calls, those
blue eyes that sparkled and that big smile. Although
we miss him, there is joy in our hearts knowing that
he is at home with our Lord. We love you, Pops!
