P. 2

Welcome

Welcome to our 2021 production sale. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in our program.

Much of the information in this letter may seem repetitive, but even after 46 years our goals and philosophies have remained
the same. Raising functional effi cient cows that will stay in your herd and raise a big calf year after year. We have a strict culling
program for our cows. Our goal is for the cows stick around and perform for many years. Currently, we have eight ten- to thirteen-
year-olds still making the pathfi nder report, proving longevity and performance in our herd. With all the new technologies available
to us, our selection criteria continue to remain the same. We put an emphasis on calving ease, length, and bone in our cattle along
with good feet and udder quality.

The bulls represent the top 55% of our calf crop. We realize that every bull doesn’t deserve to stay a bull that is why we castrate
a large percentage of our calves. This year’s offering is one of the most uniform we have had to date. There is a large selection of
Heifer Bulls and an outstanding set of Power Bulls that will add pounds to your calf crop. We have several new sire groups that we
are impressed with and will offer an outcross pedigree.

We worked with Tyler Melroe of Hubbard Feeds to develop a ration for our bulls again this year. We feed the bulls a high roughage
ration consisting of alfalfa, grass hay, silage, whole oats, and whole corn in our own feedlot here at the ranch. We choose not to
push our bulls on feed. We want them to gain about 2.75 to 3 pounds per day. This ensures that they will last for many years. Flax-
Lic tubs are also offered to improve semen quality.

We encourage you to go to www.barjvangus.com to view videos of the bulls. Our bulls are fertility tested and carcass ultra-sounded
by Dr. Gary Scheiber and Dr. JJ Hovde, respectively, of High Plains Veterinary Clinic in Sidney, Montana. A supplement sheet with
yearling weights, carcass, and scrotal information will be available on Sale Day.

This year’s offering of heifers is expected to weigh in the 800-pound range. They are feminine, broody and should make exceptional
        mama cows.

Please come by the ranch anytime to view the bulls, heifers, or the cows. We would love to show you our operation. We are always
happy to discuss any questions you may have about our program or the cattle. If you are unable to attend, please do not hesitate
to call us or one of the representatives to help you with bull selection or your bids. The sale will once again be broadcast live on DV
Auction. You have the option to register and bid with them as well.

Thank you for your continued loyalty and support. We value your trust and confi dence in us here at Bar JV Angus.

We look forward to seeing you on sale day.
