P. 4

Welcome

We can all agree that this decade has been one for the record books. We have had many new challenges along the way but I keep circling back to one of the
phrases John repeated day after day a few years ago when we were plenty dry. “Rain always comes after a drought. “ Admittedly, sometimes that phrase
got a little old, or maybe a lot old – but it also holds true. Rain does always come after a drought and good times always come after challenging times. Life
is a cycle and so is the industry we all love so much because we do really love it or we wouldn’t be here today...right?!

Red Angus has been highly sought after most of the past decade and there are new faces every day that have realized the value that Red Angus cattle can
add to a herd. I spent the better part of a week in Oklahoma City at the Cattleman’s Congress and was very excited to see so many exhibitors in the Red
Angus Show – especially the junior show! Seeing all new junior’s faces did this mama’s heart some good!

Did you know that by purchasing a registered Red Angus bull and getting that bull transferred to you makes you eligible to enroll those calves sired by that
bull in our FCCP Program? Have you been seeing the growing trend of the consumer wanting to know where their product comes from? Did you know that
Red Angus has one of the only source and age verified programs available? Have you also heard that RAAA recently completed negotiations with USDA
on the breed’s Live Animals Specification form or GLA Schedule? The result is that at the request of each brand owner, Red Angus can be included in
Angus-labeled branded beef programs. Red Angus is “Angus” and now USDA has officially acknowledged that fact by enabling Red Angus and Red Angus-
influenced cattle that meet certain requirements to join black-hided animals in as many Angus brands that decide in favor of their inclusion. Both genotypic
and phenotypic qualification criteria are contained in the new GLA Live Animal Specification Schedule. You can read more on that in the Red Angus E-news
at redangus.org from Dec 15, 2021 or give us a call. Take it from someone who has raised Red Angus cattle since the late 1980s when that red hide was
heavily discounted – this is definitely exciting and promising news.

We are excited to offer you some bulls with some different pedigrees than the past. We have quite a few calving ease bulls with a wide spread from birth
to weaning and yearling growth. With that said, our calving ease bulls are not short gestation bulls. We have AI dates available upon request. We still focus
on a maternal herd that has plenty of growth, with good feet and udders. We don’t have any more time to babysit cows than you do. Our mama cows are
currently still running corn stalks while getting supplementation, including the mother to the bred heifer that just won the junior shows at the NAILE in
Louisville and Cattlemen’s Congress in OKC. These dams have to do their job and do it well or they get a one-way ticket out of here. We spend a lot of time
thinking about what you, our customer wants and needs. You and your operations are important to us. You will also find that while our bulls carry plenty of
body condition, they are not over conditioned by any means and if you choose to leave them here to feed after the sale they will actually be gradually backed
down to a lower mega cal grower diet so they can transition better at delivery time. You, the customer, are always at the front of our minds. We would love
to talk cattle (or goats…hahaha!) with you and help you make your herd bull decisions.

We will have video footage of the bulls the week prior to the sale. The bulls will be at Hub City on Friday before the sale for you to sort through. They have
been on a strict herd health program. We will have ultrasound carcass data available sale day. They have genomic enhanced EPDs and are parent-verified.
Some are enrolled in the Top Dollar program. They will also be semen checked prior to sale day.

New this year is that ALL THE RED ANGUS BULLS WILL SELL AT 1PM IN CATALOG ORDER. The Flittie and Schnabel bulls will sell immediately after the
Red Angus, approximately 1:45 pm. Sale Supplement sheets will be available sale day.
Hope to see you sale day! If not, you are always welcome to stop in for a visit! As always, don’t forget about our goat sale April 23, 2022 broadcast live on
        DVAuction.

Sit down, buckle up and buy Red! I think we have some exciting times ahead!
