There is so much performance here that you really need to
study the numbers to realize how powerful Forged is. The
moderate birth weight leads to a top WR and he just kept
going, turning in the #3 YR of the offering. ADG sits at
111 and WDA is 110, which is tied for #5. This proves out
breed-leading growth EPDs that all sit in the top 1% of the
breed and a YW that is tied for #5 in the class. Every carcass
EPD is in the top 20% and maternal numbers are simply
outstanding. His dam is a well-made first-calf heifer that
posts an MPPA of 106. The pedigree is a who’s who of the
Mesa Maid cow family with lineage MPPAs of 102, 106, 101
and 109. When doing phenotypic evaluations, the first word
that was written down was ‘tank.’ He’s built right and has the
personal power and number package to go far. Best of all the
final note on evaluations – very calm, nice disposition.

This bull’s dam didn’t make it through the spring and he was
raised as a graft, so you won’t see any ratios. He features
super calving ease yet turned in the #4 adjusted WW and
actual YW and #3 adjusted YW, which would have given him
growth ratios at the top of the class. Likewise, his carcass
scans were excellent and ratios for both IMF and REA would
have been in the 110 range. His EPDs tell the rest of the
story with WW, YW and ADG in the top 1% of the breed,
Marb at 2% and REA at 12% with a GM at 3%. He features
moderate birth weight, high growth and outstanding carcass
all in one package. He’s solid front to back with above
average phenotypic ratings and a great disposition.
