P. 2
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 18th Annual Red Hill “More Than a Bull” Sale. Thanks to all previous
customers for your purchases and the confidence you have placed in our breeding
program. We are grateful for all our customers and especially proud that most are
REPEAT customers. We are also grateful for those who have shown interest and
followed our breeding program through the years.
Our primary goal at Red Hill is to provide practical breeding stock to improve the
profitability of our commercial customers’ cattle operations. We also offer bulls with
the genetic potential to positively impact most seedstock herds.
At Red Hill, we have always developed bulls for optimal structural soundness and
longevity. Since young bull management can be problematic during the first breeding
season, we have decided to market primarily 18-month-old bulls when possible. In
this sale, the Red Angus, Charolais, and Cross-Ty bulls will be age advantaged, but
we are offering a select group of 14-month-old SimGenetics bulls.
Since our first sale, Red Hill has provided the most meaningful EPDs and Indexes in
the industry. After three years of intensive study, we made the decision to enroll our
herd in the Leachman “Profit Share” Genetic Evaluation. This program offers a more
complete suite of EPDs and the most meaningful Indexes in the beef industry. The
$Profit Indexes will be used for making selection decisions in the Red Hill program,
and we encourage our commercial producers to do likewise.
A major reward of the seedstock business is the opportunity to enjoy the friendship
and fellowship of our customers and fellow breeders. Visitors are always welcome
to visit our farm to study our cattle, records, and production system. After reviewing
the catalog, please contact us with any questions.
