Welcome
Huber EY Red Angus Hello from Huber EY Red Angus,
Bryan & Emmy, Isaac, Alex & Betsy Huber Welcome to our 2023 annual production sale. We have been raising Red Angus cattle for
5866 76th Ave SE • Jud, ND 58454 the past 26 years and our focus remains the same, stay out of the extremes and use proven
Home: (701) 685-2687 genetics. We want to produce balanced traits that work for not only ourselves but our
Bryan: (701) 320-8054 • Emmy: (701) 320-1995 customers as well. We watch closely for mothering abilities, foot structure, and tempera-
ment. Our culling process is strict and we prefer to only sell bulls we wouldn’t hesitate
using ourselves.
We feed everything here at the ranch and use a TMR wagon allowing us to manage a higher
roughage ration. The rations are balanced by our nutritionist Joel Ostendorf, of CHS, and
consist of alfalfa, slough hay, upland hay, hay barley, corn silage, dry DDG, corn, barley and
a mineral supplement. The only creep feed the bulls receive is a cocci pellet in the spring
before turnout. They are raised on their own dams and weaned in October at our ranch. Our
goal is to develop the bulls responsibly and feed for a 3lb/ADG.
Our cowherd and herd sires have been 50K DNA tested for genetic and parentage assess-
ment. We feel confident that this will provide you with the most accurate numbers when
making your selections.
The bulls will have passed their first semen exam by Dr. Galbreath before sale day. We rec-
ommend having them tested again before turnout. The bulls will also receive a foot rot shot.
As cattlemen you all know the hours and hours that go into raising cattle, we couldn’t get it
all done without the help of our kids and hired help, Joe and Garrett. Thanks to them and all
the other individuals that play a role in helping us throughout the year.
We look forward to working with past and future customers and continue to stand by the
cattle we raise. Feel free to visit or ask questions about our herd anytime.

on Oct. 3 and continued for 110 days. The bulls had no creep and were weaned and started

We always try to grow the bulls and not push them. In doing so with the extreme winter we
have had in our area this year, the bulls are down some from our usual weights but have really
done well as of late and we believe those of you who have seen our cattle will see the same
quality you have seen before. We take pride in representing our cattle honestly, absolutely
no “fluffed” numbers or information. We believe in trying to breed the most balanced and
functional cattle possible. We do not chase any one individual trait. All the bulls are semen
and soundness evaluated and are ready to go to work for you.
We are excited for you to see the bulls. We try to bring a consistent offering from end to end
for you to appraise. They are bred to grow and fed to last in anyone’s program. This year we
again are offering a few more black bulls, by utilizing embryo transfer and artificial insemina-
tion we are hoping to bring some high-quality black genetics for our customers that utilize
both black and red genetics.
We would like to invite you to take the evening off and join us on April 28, 2023, at 5 p.m.
at Napoleon Livestock. If you are unable to attend the sale, we encourage you to view the
bulls at the ranch any time before the sale, or give us a call. This year we have videos of the
offering available online on DVAuction.com or our website crosshairsimmental.com. We hope
to see you at the sale and see for yourself how a bull from CHSR can add pounds to your calf
crop and improve your profitability.
Thank you for your interest and support.
Ben, Cassie, Brinley, Hailey, Jaxson, Jace and Colton Kleppe
