9 POLLY Bay & White Paint Grade
Molly
15 HH Year Born: 2011
Polly is 15.0 HH tall and 12 years old. She is a bay and white paint.
Her dam was a grade Missouri Foxtrotter mare. Believe it or not,
she was a gaited mare used on the ranch and was used to rodeo
some. Polly’s sire was a black mammoth riding jack. Polly is a real
gem of a mule. She is rare, because she is family friendly, you can lay her off, she’s
easy to handle in every way, an easy keeper and completely willing to please. She’s
also a real find because she can do all the quarter ranch mule type tasks. You can
herd, rope, sort and doctor cattle, side pass over to open & close gates, slide
to a stop and turn on a dime. While she can do all those things, she is still a super
smooth, well-seasoned, trail mule that takes care of her rider. If you are a cowboy
or cowgirl, wanting to cover some country, check your cows or pack salt, she’s
all about it. Or if you are a weekend warrior type, ride twice a month, or every few
months, she’s still your gal. One cool story we will share about her, is of her and
her previous owner, Jimmy House. Jimmy had some flooding on his ranch, and he
had 12 baby calves get stranded on an island tributary of the Arkansas River. He
swam Polly out to the island, tied a calf on her back and threw one in the saddle
with him. He then swam her back to the bank of the river and set the calves down,
only to do it 5 more times. That was an amazing emergency ranch task to complete
on a gaited mule! My husband and I had the privilege to start this nice mule for
our good friend. The second time we got her in for training, my husband started
her working cattle and roping by using her at the local cattle auction. We even later
taught her to lay down. To sum it all up, she is that rare and amazing mule that any
one will be thrilled to take home. She is the total package of a family friendly, ranch
used and professionally trained mule. Please feel free to come to the ranch and
ride her, prior to us leaving for Utah. We have great places to try her on the trails, obstacles and an arena, too. We will arrive a
little early in Utah, so prospective buyers can also ask to try her before the sale on the trails at Bryce Canyon Mule Days. This is
a primo mule you need to own! If you would like more info, pictures or videos, call Jennifer.
