P. 4
Welcome
Thank you for taking time to look over the 2024 bull offering. This crop of calves has definitely been
put to the test. They had one of the most challenging winters to survive as babies with snowstorm
after storm, straight into an unseasonably early, hot start to the summer then rounded out an almost
too warm fall and so far, some harsh conditions in 2024. These boys have managed it all in stride and
they are in the bullpen because they outperformed their contemporary mates and have kept healthy
while doing so.
We spend a lot of time thinking about what you, the customer, wants and needs. You and your opera-
tions are important to us. We try to find the bulls to keep those of you whom market by the pound profitable while keeping balanced traits in mind
for those that market cattle on the rail and keep genetics for those of you who retain heifers. Red Angus cattle have forever been known for their
maternal abilities and always will be but that doesn’t mean they cannot hang a prime carcass on the rail. This set of bulls have genomic-enhanced
EPDs and are parent verified so you can rest easy knowing they are what we say they are. The work is done now you just need to pick what works
for you. We have all their actual performance data available upon request. We would love to talk cattle (or goats…hahaha!) with you and help you
make your investment decisions.
We will have video footage of the bulls the week prior to the sale. The bulls will be at Hub City Livestock on Friday before the sale for you to
sort through. You are always welcome to swing by the ranch prior to sale weekend to see them as well. They have been on a strict herd health
program. We will have carcass ultrasound data available on sale day. We can keep the bulls after the sale for a limited time, but you need to be in
contact with us to let us know we need to bring them home from the barn.
The Red Angus bulls will sell at 1:00pm in catalog order. The Flittie and Schnabel bulls will sell immediately after the Red Angus, approximately
1:45 pm. Sale supplement sheets will be available for all breeds on sale day.
Hope to see you on sale day. You are always welcome to stop in for a visit! Don’t forget about our goat sale April 27, 2024, broadcast live on Dv
Auction.
Sit down, buckle up and buy Red! I am confident we have some exciting times ahead!

Welcome to our 2024 Simmental Bull Sale
Calves were weaned the first part of November. The weather was good and the bulls were doing
really well. Then rain, ice and mud around Christmas set things back a little. Now we just came
through a stretch of below zero and wind. Cattle seemed to handle it better than I do.
The calves do not get any creep feed. The weaning weight comes from grass and milk. The ration
the bulls are on is the same as in the past. Silage, ground hay, corn and modified distillers. They have free choice salt and mineral.
All cattle are on a herd health program from the Hosmer Vet Clinic. All the bulls have been DNA tested with genomically-enhanced EPDs, parent
verified, coat color and horn/polled. This information along with ADG, yearling weight and scrotal measurements will be available on a supplement
sheet before the sale.
You are welcome to view the bulls at the ranch before the sale.
As always, thank you for your interest.
