Welcome,
Judy and I would like to welcome you to our 49th an-
nual production sale.
Who would have thought we would make it this many
years? And it all goes back to our customers. Without
you we would not be where we are today.
Being a seedstock producer has a lot of trials and Judy Loonan Rick Thompson
tribulations, and you really have to love the work and
we do. It’s what we love to do and we wouldn’t have it
any other way.
My dad’s favorite saying was, “It’s more love than money, and the money’s no factor.” I believe it to be a
true statement. Every day we are trying to improve our genetics and purchase the best genetics available
so we can pass them on to our customers.
Judy and I think that this year’s offering is as good as there is in the country. There are some really top
genetics in this year’s offering from the Red Angus clear through the Hybrids and Simmentals. The bulls
we have to offer have come from some of the top herds in the business and we are really excited to let
you pick through them and help move your program forward.
We have four new herd sires that have progeny in the sale offering along with all our other herd sires.
On the Red Angus side, we have Stockmarket, a new sire that looks to excel in marbling and ribeye
along with a big spread between birth and yearling EPDs. Plus, he’s as gentle as a dog.
Lotto, another Red Angus sire purchased from Leland Red Angus along with Stockmarket, is also a big-
spread bull with loads of length and muscle. His calves carry the same traits.
Deep End is a sire used in the AI program and man, you want to talk about good calves with a lot of
growth! They have it they are as good as they come. We even kept one for our own use.
On the Simmental side we purchased a sire from Springer Simmental named Copperhead. He is a real
stud – heavy muscled, long sided and soft made, and he moves like a cat. His progeny are as good as he
is – don’t miss his calves.
It’s a wonderful time to be in the cattle business with supply low. Prices should stay good for some time.
The future is bright. So, on February 3, join us for our 49th sale and help yourself to some great genetics.
We look forward to seeing you. Feel free to come in advance and evaluate the bulls in their natural envi-
ronment. Judy and I would love to visit about the cattle with you.
Judy and Rick
