All Red Angus trace back to black Angus. Sometimes the gene pool for Red Angus can be a
little small, so we have brought some new genes into our herd by breeding some of our top

DK RESOURCE J316 cows to some top-end Angus genetics through AI. These offspring, when bred to Red Angus
will throw 50% red calves which in turn become 100% 1A Red Angus cattle. These same off-
spring bred to homozygous black cattle will throw 100% black-hided calves. DK 316 is sired
by Sav Resource 1441 who is known for heavy muscled, fast growing, good footed progeny. DK 316’s dam is a proven cow for us that has a great disposition and is super high in growth
and milk. She holds the record for the heaviest WW of over 900lbs on a bull calf for us the year before she weaned DK 316 at 875lbs. You will want to retain every female on this line.
