Wilson is a mega-gentle, broke 11-year-old black john mule. He
stands just over 15 HH and is built right. He has massive experi-

in our outfitting business we call kid-safe, but we have had complete novices and

them, but rides to the ability of the rider if someone with more experience wants to

in the morning. He is one of the few mules that are independent enough to stand
quietly at the hitch rack when everyone rides off at 4 in the morning to go hunt. He
was worked on cattle when he was younger and he understands working gates,
herding and getting around the stock. Wilson has been around lots of buffalo,
grizzly bears, wolves and coyotes. He steps right through high water, bridges,
mud or rockslides. He is reliable and sure-footed. He will easily ride off alone or
with a group. Wilson saddles up gentle every time. He stands to get off and on
and you can use a mounting block. He is great with his ears and easy to bridle.
He has a good neck rein and stop and back. You have to push him to lope but he
will. Wilson is broke to hobble and picket by a front foot. He has good, hard black
feet and is great to trim or shoe. We trailer everywhere we ride, so he gets right in a
trailer. Wilson is a businessman. Tell him what you want and he will try his best to
get it done. He was raised in Nevada so he knows rough country. You can ride him
with a crupper on flatter country but he prefers a britching in the mountains. He
had his teeth floated last year and keeps his weight well. Wilson has led the pack
string many miles and he is an excellent pack mule anywhere in the string. He has packed elk, deer and bear, plus camp provisions. We chose Wilson last summer when
we packed in testing gear to a mountain lake for Canadian scientists. The gear was valued at nearly $100,000 and the probes were very awkward, sticking out high above
his head. When you want safe packing or riding, you pick Wilson. Like the Tom Hanks movie Cast Away, you call WILSON when you need a reliable buddy. Wilson is good
to catch and a gentleman to handle. He is current on vaccinations, wormer, and Coggins. Wilson is good with the vet and has never been worried by any new situations
we have shown him. He has absolutely no blemishes and is steadfast, sound and sensible. Wilson is a kind, extremely dependable family mule.
