Lazy KT Performance Horses is proud to present SHINE WIMP
SHINE, an eye-catching, multifaceted and talented coming
5-year-old gelding. Shrimp is an old soul and has the kindest
disposition, making him a special mount for any rider, young
or old. Shrimp has spent his whole life under the guidance of some of the
industry’s best horsemen. He was raised, trained and shown by the 2023
NRHA Open Futurity Champion, Brian Bell, in his elite reining program.
Shrimp earned $6,300 in the reining futurities, including several reserve
finishes in NRHA Level 4 Open competitions. Shrimp perfectly executes
massive sliding stops, fancy spins and flawless lead changes. He is a
beautiful mover with smooth gaits and is as broke as they come. Shrimp
transitioned over to the world of team roping with ease under the guidance
of world champion rope horse trainer Gabriel Salgado. Shrimp is a trained
rope horse in the heading, heeling and breakaway roping and is already
a money earner in the team roping pen. Shrimp is a great mount for the
whole family – he has been entered in the #7s all the way up to the #14s
and the Open ARHFA futurities. He is great in the box and incredibly honest.
Shrimp has two more years of eligibility in the team roping futurities and
his current trainer, Gabriel, would love to keep him in his world-class
program – a great testament to Shrimp’s abilities and overall demeanor.
Outside of the performance arenas, Shrimp also understands the meaning
of a long day’s work. He has been used extensively on our ranch and is
patient and dependable all day long. He has been my mount to gather hun-
dreds of mares off pasture, as well as roping wild mares to tame and halter
break – jobs for only the finest of ranch horses. Shrimp smoothly covers
ground on a relaxed rein, crosses over any terrain, doesn’t fear traffic or
commotion and travels out alone or in a group. He crosses water and even
enjoys swimming in the waves of the Pacific Ocean. He is the first pick for
any job, big or small. Shrimp has been enjoyed by everyone who has had
the pleasure of working with him. He is sound of mind and body, with no
vices or bad habits. He stands at 14.3 HH with substantial hoof and bone
to support longevity. He is great to haul, load, unload, trim, clip, bathe,
tie and is always easy to catch, even when turned out on big pastures. It
is no surprise that Shrimp has shown such success in the performance
arenas, being a son of SHINE CHIC SHINE, who won $148,714 in his career
and has produced winners of nearly $3,000,000 to date. Shrimp’s dam is
by reining legend WIMPYS LITTLE STEP. WIMPYS LITTLE CUSTOM has
produced several money earners and is the maternal half-sister to earners
