Welcome

          Cattle Producers and friends,

On behalf of the Thiessen family, we would like to welcome
and invite you to our 40th annual bull sale. This year marks
our 68th year of raising and offering high quality balanced trait
registered Angus bulls. Thank you for taking the time to review
          this catalog.

As I am writing this, we are calving in 50 to 60 degree weather
in March! That is simply unheard of here in eastern Montana.
But only a month ago we were calving in temperatures that
were almost 100 degrees colder. It was a very long and trying
2 plus weeks of some of the worst calving we have ever
experienced. As I have developed more and more of these
gray hairs over the years, I have increasingly tried to find
positives in the things that we do. Through that cold snap we had a cow that calved over a week early out in
a pasture in the middle of the night. That calf should have been dead when I found it the next morning. The
maternal instincts of the Angus cow are phenomenal, and she got that calf up and sucking and then straddled
it to keep it warm. We have so many losses in agriculture that it is hard to not get drug down, but we need to
          celebrate and embrace our wins!

At Regency Acres Angus, our mission is to raise as labor free and forage efficient of a cow as possible and for
that cow to be a predictable breeder. We breed for smart and sound cattle that can travel, cattle with length,
volume and that extra rib, cattle that are easy fleshing, and cattle with longevity and are nice to be around. We
want cows with good udders that take care of their calves, that have vigorous calves that get up quickly and
get to suckling. We breed for cattle that are beefy, long, deep, and perform under a wide array of conditions.
All of those things we select for and are things that are passed on through genetics. The genetics that are
introduced into our herd are done so with much research and contemplation. We score our cattle on many
little things that can make a big difference. With that said, one can look through the cattle and appreciate the
depth and uniformity of the cattle and the progress that has been made.
The bulls have been developed on a high roughage ration designed for a 3 lb./day gain. This allows the bulls
to develop and grow at their own pace without causing structural damage. They will be fertility tested prior to
the sale. They have been given two rounds of foot rot vaccine.
The heifers are straight out of our registered replacements. The bottom 25% were already culled. They are
developed on silage, chopped hay and a little bit of corn and run in a large pasture where they can get plenty
of exercise. They are bangs vaccinated, freeze branded, have all their yearling shots and will be ready to go to
          work for you.

You’re welcome to come view the bulls and heifers any time before the sale at the ranch. Videos of the bulls
          are posted on DVAuction.com.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, April 11th.
