Sale Information
Welcome to the Thiessen’s Regency Acres Annual Production Sale.
It is my pleasure to invite you to the annual bull sale at Regency Acres Angus, hosted by the Thiessen family.
Their steadfast commitment to raising high-quality Angus cattle is evident in every aspect of their program,
built on a foundation of integrity, hard work, and a genuine passion for the industry.
At Regency Acres, success is measured by the success of their customers. The Thiessens have dedicated
themselves to producing seedstock that enhances profitability for commercial cattlemen. Their breeding
philosophy is rooted in practical, performance-driven traits that contribute to longevity, soundness, and
overall efficiency. Their goal is simple: to provide bulls that not only meet but exceed expectations in real-
world conditions.
Longevity, structural soundness, and overall performance are key factors in selecting the right bulls for any
program. At Regency Acres, these fundamentals remain at the forefront. The focus on calf survivability,
weaning performance, and maternal traits ensures a well-rounded investment for buyers. Understanding
the genetics behind your seedstock provider’s cow herd is crucial, as their breeding decisions ultimately
influence the future of your own operation.
Russ and Tyler continue to stand behind their program, committed to helping you find the right seedstock to
move your herd forward. Their dedication to quality and customer success is evident in everything they do.
If I can be of any assistance leading up to the Regency Acres Bull Sale, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Helpful Hints for care of Herd Bulls
Having herd bulls adapt to the environment they will be in is adjust to a different diet. When a bull is turned out, he isn’t
very important to the success of a breeding program. Whenever thinking much about eating, so any advantage that you can give
possible, the bulls should be fed the same type of forage they him will be beneficial to younger bulls.
will eat in the breeding pasture for a minimum of two weeks
before turn out. Their rumen operates with little bugs to break Another trick for having a virgin bull ready is what we call
down the diet and different forages each have their own little “Jump-starting.” If you have a cow or a heifer around that is
bugs. About two weeks is the time required for the rumen to cycling, put the bull with her. If he seems disinterested, put
another bull in with the cow for him to observe. This should
trigger his brain. When the bull appears interested, let him in
and remove the other bull. Make sure a bigger bull doesn’t start
whipping on him, or that could defeat what you are trying to
accomplish. It is rare that this procedure is necessary, but it is
good insurance and, once the bull gets a taste of what his job
is, he will be ready for those heifers.
When breeding season is finished, a reconditioning program
for yearling bulls is good as they change their teeth at 18 to 24
months of age.
