49 ZENA Stripped Buckskin Grade
Molly
15.1 HH Year Born: 2016
Zena is out of a Grevy Zebra stallion and Buckskin Warm Blood
mare. She is a very rare find! The Grevy species of Zebras are the
largest of the three zebra species and recently coming off the en-
dangered species list. Their appearance is closer to that of a mule
and is referred to as the ZEBRA MULE. Despite a handful of zoos and animal parks
around the world having had successful captive/breeding programs, its population
has declined from 15,000 to 2,000 since the 1970s. In 2016, the population was
reported to be stable, however, as of 2020, the wild numbers are only estimated
at only around 2,250. With this being said, this makes our Zena a very rare and
shiny gem. Zena is 9 years old and stands 15.1 HH. She has the shape, frame,
and conformation that everyone looks for in an equine partner. Zena was raised
in a petting zoo and has been around people and large crowds her whole life. She
has the sweetest disposition and willing attitude. Zena is the perfect trail riding
partner. She has been on many overnight camping/hunting trips. Zena is very sure
footed and will ride in the front or bring up the rear. If it’s a ranch hand that you are
looking for that is no problem. Zena has been used in most aspects of ranch work,
from penning, gathering, checking fences, to sorting. She has spent many hours
under a pack saddle and has hauled supplies up the mountain and meat off the
mountains. Zena is easy to catch, clip, bathe, stands for the farrier as well as the
vet. She is current on all vaccinations and deworming. Zena is sure to turn heads
anywhere you take her. With her build and unique markings there is no question
that this puts her in a league of her own. Please contact Jason Griffin at 573-225-
7144 if you have any more questions.

50 MURPHY Grade
Red Bay
Molly
13.3 HH Year Born: 2016
She is finer than a frog hair split four ways! Petersen Mule
Company would like to introduce you to Murphy. A 9-year-old, Red
Bay molly, standing just a hair under 14 HH. Named for Murphy’s
Law where “anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” This is the
mule you want to be riding when everything else goes wrong. Tarps, bouncy balls,
traffic, snakes, dogs, rocks, trees, parades, wild animals, random plastic bags or
mud puddles, it does not bother her. She is confident and sturdy, kind and willing.
Leads, loads, clips, shoes, saddles and bridles like a dream. She is tolerant and
forgiving to any level of rider. She has great conformation, easy to fit a saddle to
and ready to be your next adventure partner. “Murph” really enjoys people over
the company of the herd. She is near the top of the pecking order and is the same
gentle girl to ride even with time off. Outside of trail riding and obstacles Murphy
has taken to arena work and has a nice walk, trot, lope, stop, neck rein, side pass
and backs beautifully. She takes her leads while riding soft and collected. Murphy
also knows all the cool mule tricks like side passing to a mounting block and laying
down on cue. She is the kind of mule we all like to ride and have around for friends
and family to ride too! All Petersen Mule Company auction mules are sold with
the option of a free clinic at our facility to ensure a smooth transition to the new
owner. All Petersen Mule Company mules have been desensitized to dogs, hikers,
4 wheelers, crowds, bullwhips, tarps and flags. For any questions or to schedule a
test ride please call or text Nellie 406-560-6301 or Shawn 208-221-5544.
