“Rickashay” has been in our program since he was a baby
2-year-old. He has always been a sweetheart that wants to
please in all that is asked. We have ridden him on a forest
association for several summers where he has developed a
strong work ethic. He has been many miles through the rocks and brush,
down timber, creeks and bogs. You will fi nd him to be sure footed and
smart about his choices in where to place his feet when picking his way
through a tough spot. Rickashay can be relied on to put in a big day and
keep going with a positive attitude even when he is tired. He is an exceptional traveler in all gaits. He will out walk
most and has a big ground covering trot when you need it. Yet he can slow down and be as smooth as silk in the
arena. Lopes collected pretty circles and is good about his leads. He has a solid foundation that exemplifi es body
control. Rickashay is soft in the face and ribs, rides one handed in about any bridle you choose, and stays broke.
He prefers a rider with enough experience to be soft handed because he is sensitive and responsive. Super kind,
willing, and so eager to please. He is respectful to handle on the ground. Stands tied quietly, hobbles, nice to shoe,
bath, load, and gets along with others in the herd great. We have also roped on Rickashay quite a bit; branded lots of
calves, roped the sled and live cattle in the arena. He has a lot of rate, cow sense, and uses himself well. He could have a bright future in the roping arena
if that is the direction you want to go. Rickashay has been enjoyed by our entire family. Our 9-year-old daughter favors him when we go trail riding, and
mom and dad can go do their work on him and enjoy the day as well. He is a pretty special young gelding with a lot to offer his new partner.
