Special is a 4-year-old NCHA money earning daughter of the legend-
ary sire, Once In A Blu Boon, who is an Equi-Stat Elite million dollar
sire. She is out of a daughter of Dual Smart Rey (LTE $330,436 and
$7.8 million dollar sire). This mare has all the cow horse pedigree
anyone could ever ask for with a fantastic size; 15HH, 1100 lbs, a
size 0 shoe, and built like a barbie doll. She has a cute type head, short ear, soft
kind eye, a well balanced neck tying into a wide deep chest with a great shoulder,
a nice whither, deep heart girth, short back, and a hip built like it should be thats
big and round with a low tail set that ties into the gaskin just above the hock.
Special is just that, a very very special and hard to fi nd mare. She is as gentle as
the day is long; everyone’s dream horse. She will cut a cow like one should, she
keeps a sharp eye with her ears forward and waits for the cow on a loose rein
and head down. Special doesn’t only excel in the arena as a cutting horse, she
has a reining cow horse type handle as well. She is soft in the bridal, lopes nice
circles, has nice lead changes, and hunts a stop . You can show her in any event
you want; Cutting, Reining, Working Cow Horse, Ranch Trail, Ranch Reining,
or Ranch Riding. She would excel with all the heart and try you could ask for.
Special is also fantastic outside of the arena and can be ridden by all ages. We
have been using Special all over the Ranch to gather, sort and ship cattle. She
handles the roughest of country like a true blue mountain ranch horse. Special has
a ground traveling walk and nice slow jog making it easy on the trail rider. She is
very easy to ride. She will go over under, over, and through any thing you point
her at. This mare doesn’t refuse you on anything and she has more whoa than go.
She is happy to go slow, she’s in not in a hurry to go any faster then you ask her to
but you don’t have to pedal her. Special has a true one handed neck rein and rides
off your seat and legs. Special will carry fl ags for the grand entry at rodeos. She
would be a great 4H horse or a fantastic Queen horse or for drill team. Out on the
trail she crosses rivers and irrigation ditches with ease and handles down timber
and steep hill sides like on old mountain horse; safe, steady and solid. Nothing
bothers her, she gives you 110% all the time. Whether on the trail, at the ranch,
or in the arena, she loves just being with you and enjoying quality time with you.
She loves being that friend that just listens and doesn’t have to talk. She will teach
everyone around her something no matter their age. She will teach you that quality
time spent with friends and family is better that anything else, and she is ready to
take you on your next adventure and be your best friend. She will load in and back
out of the trailer, stands for the clippers, and enjoys a bath. She likes the farrier
and is good for the vet. We encourage you to come to the ranch and ride this once
in a lifetime horse we call Special. We have done the required X-rays and she is
clean, but we welcome you to do your own vet check at buyers expense. We look
