Sitka is a beautiful, 11-year-old gray AQHA gelding. He stands
15.3HH and packs a load of muscle. Sitka has size, but he has a
kind eye and is gentle, easy going, and well-mannered to be around. He has
spent the last 7 years with the same owner and was our go-to horse for any
task, big or small, on a cow-calf operation in northwest South Dakota. Sitka is easy to
bridle, stands quiet to shoe, and gets along with other horses. He loads and hauls well
and stands nicely for saddling. Sitka has primarily and extensively been ranched off of but
has seen plenty of country side attending brandings and dragging calves. He has put long
hours in, day and night, pulling the calf sled through thick mud and slop during calving
with no troubles. Sitka has covered rough, rocky terrain, through trees and deep draws
gathering cows and trailing bulls and will go until the job is done. If we needed a horse that would guarantee to last a full day of working cows or testing bulls, Sitka got
the call to ride in the back pens to sort and load the working chute where the sorting fl ag waving around never fazed him. Sitka rides off alone calmly and will cross water
and down trees with no fuss. Despite Sitka’s size, he moves extremely nice, carries his head level, stays soft in your hand, will move off your legs and feet, and his lope is
as smooth as whiskey. Trailing cows or leisurely riding, Sitka will handle the job with grace. He does well with time off and has been ridden by various levels of riders. He
has been exposed and handled the commotion of young kids hooting and hollering and riding small power wheels nearby, ridden alongside ATVs and side-by-sides, and
doesn’t miss a beat. Sitka has nice, solid, big round feet and wears a #1 all the way around. Sitka does have an old muscle tear on his right buttock, a slight blemish, but
it does not affect his soundness. Please contact Chad Nelson for more information. Located in northwestern SD.

Hulla Popper is a gorgeous 14.3HH chestnut mare that will weigh
1050 lbs. She has a big, thick, long pretty mane and tail and is easy
on the eyes. It should come as no surprise that she is a money earning, fi nished cutter herself after you read her
pedigree, as it is full of money earners. She is as cowy a horse as they come. Not only is she cowy and great to
cut on but she is a pleasure to ride elsewhere. She’s great in the sorting pen, on the ranch, stays calm on the
toughest trails and the town traffi c doesn’t bother her either. We have ridden Hulla Popper everywhere and we have her started
roping too. Hulla Popper is always ready to see you and she is always gentle. Even after a long time of being off, she is very
broke. She moves off leg pressure and is easy for anyone to ride. She is also good to be around on the ground as she loads,
hauls and ties like a champ. She is good for the farrier and loves her baths. Everyone that has ridden her likes her from the
pros to the beginners She’s just fun and easy whether you want to cut, sort, or just cruise around on a safe gentle horse – she
checks every box. Come ride her for yourself or give Matt a call.
