The Most Handsome Son of METALLIC CAT, whose personality is
sweeter than sugar! Southbound has been part of our family since he
was a 3 yr old, he will be hard to part with. We have done a little bit
of everything on him and he has seriously seen everything with our
menagerie. Something exciting is that Southbound is eligible for the
Royal Crown and Riata Buckle Futurities. Southbound is always easy and gentle
to saddle and go enjoy! He has a huge personality and will keep a smile on your
face. He knows a few tricks too, will kneel and curbside to mount. He’s inquisitive,
funny and charming. He is very trained in the arena and simply amazing outside.
Southbound is naturally low headed and lopes beautiful circles on a draped rein.
He has great direction and guides right where you point him. He has a deep sliding
stop, stylish spins, and his lead changes are automatic. Southbound reads cows
great and is good out of the herd and down the fence. He would make a really fun
horse to go show in the Cowhorse and Versatility events. Southbound has a really
neat pedigree! He is an own son of the leading NCHA and NRCHA sire, METALLIC
CAT, earner of $637,711 NCHA, NCHA Open Futurity Champion and Horse of the
Year, and producer of over $40 million! And his dam is FLO LIKE A CAT, PCCHA Open Futurity Champion. Everyone has ridden Southbound around our place. He has al-
ways been our go to if a family member or business man wants to come play cowboy for the day. He always rides like a saint and forgiving to any mistakes. Southbound
has been ridden all over our MT and AZ ranches. We have used him and depended on him in all aspects of ranch tasks. You can rope, drag, and tie on solid. Open every
gate, drop a rein and ground tie all day, sort pairs, gather cattle, and just enjoy the ride while your in the saddle. Making a neat switch end rope horse- with a lot of style
and finesse across the pen! He’s a fun horse everyday. Southbound has been trail ridden a lot and enjoys leisurely cruising throughout the desert. He’s confident alone
or will lead or follow a group. He’s patient and kind everyday. Has confidence in the city around the bright lights and around blowing tarps, crazy dogs and loud gunfire.
He will calmy cruise down busy highways with traffic and bicycles. He is good around heavy machinery, pigs, and buffalo. Southbound is a gorgeous gelding with a long,
flowing mane and tail. He has a big, soft round eye and standing 15 hands with very correct and balanced conformation. Southbound will come running when he sees you
and follow you around like a puppy dog. He’s always a sweetheart to be around and one you fall in love with over and over. We are excited to offer him to you at the Best
