P. 2
Hello, Folks!
We would like to welcome you to our 2025 Annual Wicks Cattle SimAngus Bull Sale.
We have a small but powerful sale this year. We have a group of yearling bulls and a group of long-age bulls, reds
and blacks. Along with the bull offering we have a nice line up of bred heifers and open heifers, both registered and
commercial.
All of the animals have been DNA tested with the GGP 100K except for a few and that is stated in the footnotes. Those
that underwent DNA testing are qualified to parentage and color/horn tested.
In the yearling bull offering you will notice a new herd sire, Power Wagon, and his looks match his name. He is truly an
enjoyable bull to look at and watch travel and a super gentle disposition. We bred a set of cows to him that were our fall
cows that we moved to spring calving, so they ran open for a bit and the calves have some birth weight size to them,
but they didn’t have calving issues. These calves had some substance to them and were hardy and resilient. He is a
quiet bull with good fleshing quality. We are excited to see what his offspring do for us.
The long-age bull sires are KCC1 War Cry 878G, OMF Epic E27, KCC1 Folsom 512F as well as others. We also have
several excellent red bulls.
We have found that we enjoy calving in late April/early-May and also enjoy producing long-age bulls. We are able to see
them mature and watch their individual qualities emerge on their own without pushing the feed to them. We like to see
them be able to travel rough range and to assure they are adapted at holding their condition on pasture grazing. We feel
we are bringing you a better product that is ready to go to work and be able to work hard for you year after year. We
appreciate you supporting our program and having patience while we adjust to bring you a strong offering. We hope
you are as excited about our long-age program as we are. You can be assured that the bulls that make it to sale day
have earned the right to be there.
Long-age bulls in the sale have passed semen tests, the yearlings will be tested prior to delivery.
The bred heifers in the sale have been AI’d to GW Medicine Man, API 180.2, TI 104.0, and then clean up bull was WIX
Legend, who has a very nice set of EPD’s with YW in the top 2%, ADG in the top 1%, WW top 10%, Milk in top 15%,
API 144.3 and TI 97.1. We are excited to see his offspring and are looking forward to having his daughters in our herd.
The 30 open heifers in the sale are a nice, even set of blacks; many of their brother-mates will be in our long-age sale
next year.
We invite you to come to the ranch prior to the sale for a look and to
hear more about our program. We appreciate your consideration and
hope to see you on sale day! Thank you for your continued support.
